About On The Radar
Star Struck Records is launching an amazing online platform for entertainers, businesses, and venues in the entertainment industry. Our goal is to grow entertainers in their respective talents by providing access to the relevant support and assistance in carving out their place in a digital age. This project comes at a time of immense pressure in the midst of a pandemic that has crippled the prospects of sold-out shows. Not many artists may have the resources to cope, but everyone deserves the chance to feed their families and pay their bills. For this reason, we have been working tirelessly on developing this interactive platform for our entertainment community along with the chance for the really dedicated to really stand out of the crowd.
How the competition will work
On The radar is a 6-month project in partnership with a few stakeholders that will be filmed for live broadcasting with full production in sound and lighting. Interested entertainers being singers, rappers, poets, comedians, DJs, gospel artists, bands, and dancers will sign up to our platform and enter. They will upload a video clip for social media and the selections will begin. We will select the top 100 and proceed to the opening live round set for October 2021 to April 2022. The competition will be open to 5 years to 59 years age groups, and for both solo and group acts of up to 10 members. The platform will launch in October 2021. All details will be available on the site. Round one will be a theater round and takes place on 31 October 2021. All entries will receive an email no later than Saturday 9th October 2021.
Although we will only select a top 100 for the competition all entertainers the digital platform will be available on both free and premium options. This platform will still be integral to our vision and we will always monitor the platform to offer opportunities, paid bookings, share value and promote talent.
Engagement
Audiences will be able to cast votes and buy tickets to see their favorite community artists perform live on show nights. We will also replay episodes along with interviews, exciting clips, and moments throughout the competition. Apart from the weekly rounds we will also host special guests and do special themed shows and fundraisers.
Contestants will receive coaching from RBL Productions and will have to overcome many challenges. We will teach them the entrepreneurial side of the business and how to build their fan base as well as how to establish a sustainable income in a very competitive industry.
Digital Platform
Contestants along with the public can sign up at www.starstruckrecords.co.za and join the premium account for access to a profile where they will then join the On The Radar group for free. If contestants select the free sign-up option they won’t be able to join the group and will be subject to the R100 entry fee to take part. An account can also apply to be verified online.
How will the platform help?
Entertainers will have an account and profile that showcases their work for prospective venues, artists, businesses to see as well as for Star Struck Records to scout from. The platform will provide payment facilities to receive online payments for artist’s bookings and an online store for their music, videos, and merchandise or side hustle whatever that may be. They will also have access to live ticket sales for their audience to support their events and donation functions for crowdfunding. Star Struck Records will manage all these accordingly.
Venues and businesses will now be able to deal with professional teams and entertainers can focus on honing their skills instead of the business side and become the best they can be. The platform is open to businesses, venues, and entertainers like singers, rappers, comedians, dancers, actors, bands, instrumentalists, and more. Service provides include sound engineers, recording studios, photography, songwriters, composers, and more. The platform hopes to build the kind of synergy and connections that leads to friendships and optimal growth in an industry in need.

As great as the big social platforms are it’s mostly catered to the overseas market and things work quite differently in SA. This platform will be focused on preparing entertainers for the reality we face, and equip them with the much-needed advice and support in the areas of finance
(taxes) brand marketing and how to build value in an infinite business.
How can the public support
The public can buy merchandise, tickets to online shows, and gift vouchers to give to their family and friends. This will allow us to book the entertainers and vendors on our network to render their services now or in the future when required.
The public can do bookings on the site or donate to their favorite causes. Star Struck Records will ensure that all contributions reach the intended recipients and the successful achievements of all the goals set out.
You will always see new and exclusive content and be able to voice your opinions on our polling options and even vote during our competitions that will be crowd-based in most instances.
Important
Any contestant who would like to enter has to be registered on the platform. Once registered on the platform they can complete the entry form and begin the process of their new journey!
